Thinking I wouldn't mind knowing all the different styles now as it's much more complicated than when i was a serious Metalhead last Century. I'll have a stab at all the genres then maybe bands could be added Or my genres Corrected i'll get it off Headbanger's Journey Probably Take ages

According To the Metal guru that is Sam Dunn these are the Metal style's still going , Found on Wikipedia's ....Metal: A Headbangers Journey page

Power Metal, Progressive Metal , Pop Metal, Stoner Metal , Thrash , Norwegian Black Metal , Grindcore , Death Metal , Swedish Death Metal , Metalcore , Goth/Doom Metal , Industrial Metal , Hard Alternative , Nu Metal and New Wave of American Metal.

Going off the list Bands i like are Mainly in the Thrash genre with a few in these styles Industrial , Hard alternative , Metalcore , Pop , Power And some old school styles . Are these styles half right or is it way more complicated

Great film, have you seen Global Metal? It's done by Sam Dunn too..

What about Melodic Death Metal, Melodic Black Metal, Deathcore, Goregrind, Deathgrind, Noisecore, Mathcore, Alternative metal (Or is that Hard Alternative..?), Post-Metal, Brutal Death Metal, Folk Metal, Gothic Metal, Neo-classical metal, Rap Metal, Viking metal, Extreme metal, Christian metal

And others, but I'm going a bit to specific here..

Heh metal has gotta be one of the most categorised genres out there ahhah.
I think metal has gotten too specific these days tbh; e.g. viking metal- isn't that just like Melodic Death but about vikings etc.? (Amon Amarth ftw btw lol). Porno-grind is another one. Also due to genres being a mix of others you get a whole lot more e.g. progressive blackened death metal.

Gotta note that on the Headbangers Journey they left out Doom metal, however it's been put on as part of the goth metal on the wikipedia list which I don't exactly agree with as they're somewhat different.

Anyway I'll add a few more to the list- Funeral Doom Metal (lol), Groove metal (essentially thrash), Avant-garde metal, not to mention all the others created by putting symphonic/progressive/melodic/blackened/post in front of it ahaha

Yeah I forgot a few, especially Avant Garde and Groove Metal. But yes, Viking Metal is practically viking themed Melodic Death Metal (And yeah Amon Amarth FTW haha) and Porno Grind is Porno themed Grind (Cock And Ball Toture the only Porno grind band I know)

And yeah, progressive blackened death metal is too specific, as is Christian Glamcore (Blessed by a broken heart)
