All those years ago.... November 29 2008 marked the 7 year anniversary of George Harrison's passing. Known as the "Quiet Beatle" George Harrison's songs stand tall beside the creative dominance of Lennon and McCartney. Songs such as Something, My sweet lord and Here comes the sun are just a few. George introduced the pop world to the flavours of Indian music and this started his spiritual journey which he continued passionately untill his illness took him from us in 2001. *** Here comes the sun .. and I say .. Its all right *** For the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2009, two Tribute Concerts to celebrate George and his music will be held at The Norwood Hotel performed by the Highlights with an extended 10 piece band featuring some of Adelaide's best musicians and singers and compere. The tribute will showcase the music of George Harrison in his time with the Beatles, The Dark Horse (Solo) years and the Travelling Wilburys. As George was the producer of Monty Python films, there is a short dedication to the zany Python team also. Our compere will guide you through the tribute with a brief commentary about his extraordinary life and music.
